Self-catering gites from Le Clos de Caveau, AOC vineyard in the heart of Provence.
Nestled in the hills of the Dentelles de Montmirail, above the village of Vacqueyras, Domaine le Clos de Caveau, is a vineyard producing small quantities of internationally renowned wine from organically certified grapes.
The Bungener family who have been settled here for the last 40 years wish to share their attachment to this magical place in offering for holiday rental their three gites, each with their own charm, all independent and with a high level of comfort. Presently, Henri Bungener is the second generation at the head of the Clos de Caveau, seconded by his wife Janet. The gites have been renovated with taste and character. All three offer access to a swimming pool in a setting where peace and rest are assured. At the same time, there are innumerable tourist opportunities. The nearest towns, Orange and Carpentras are typically Provencal, and well endowed with places of interest, monuments, restaurants and markets.

In Orange the “Chorégies” festival in the splendid site of the Roman amphitheatre, has acquired an international reputation. Avignon, the city of the Popes, is only 30 kilometres away with an exceptional choice of historical sites and its renowned festival of arts which takes place in July.
The three gites are all different in their setting. The first, Le Clos de Caveau, is situated between the wine making cellar and the house of Henri and Janet Bungener - the swimming pool is shared with the Bungener family. From the private terrace of the gite there is a panoramic view of the vines and the Rhône valley. The second, Les Petites Bergines, is situated in the middle of vines, yet within walking distance of the village of Vacqueyras with no immediate neighbours except for the third gite Le Mas des Bergines, with which it shares the swimming pool. The third gite is being renovated and will be available summer 2009.
Finally, all of Provence is on the doorstep of the Clos de Caveau; the Mediterranean sea and the creeks of Cassis are only an hour’s drive away as well as the magic sites of the Luberon, the Ardeche and the Pont du Gard.
